Ohio’s Third Grade Guarantee
The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE) is an Approved Professional Development Provider for Ohio's Third Grade Guarantee
The 2013-14 school year requires third grade teachers in the state of Ohio who work with students that are either on a reading improvement and monitoring plan, or have been retained to hold a credential or participate in a scientifically research-based reading instruction training program. The professional development must be from the Ohio Department of Education’s approved list. This is in accordance with Sub. Senate Bill 21.
The 2014-15 school year requires the same credentials apply to kindergarten through grade three teachers.
IMSE’s 30-Hour Comprehensive Training is approved as a research-based reading instruction program that meets all the requirements for Ohio’s Third Grade Guarantee. Our revised Orton-Gillingham approach to reading includes multi-sensory strategies to teach the basic foundation of the English language.
