Cultivating a Culture of Learning

Feeling burned out or overwhelmed? Too many initiatives with too little training and implementation time? Interested in being part of productive change instead of its target? Through the cultivation of a culture of learning across the system, learners become the drivers of school improvement and no longer feel like its targets. The traditional approach of professional development alone will not result in changing teacher behaviors in the classroom (Guskey, 1985, 1986, 1989; Joyce and Calhoun, 2010; Joyce and Showers 1982, Robinson, 2023). Dawn Brookhart will illustrate the vital role coaching plays in leading change and equipping educators with the skills to embrace adaptive challenges that schools face today. It’s time for a reset on our approach to school improvement initiatives.
