IMSE Intervention and Support for Struggling Readers Course

This course is designed to provide knowledge and strategies for intensifying instruction in reading and spelling. This course supplements the Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham Plus course by helping participants identify areas of need for struggling readers and the strategies and instruction best suited for intervention. This asynchronous course is approximately 9 hours long.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to identify the importance of building automaticity in the subskills of reading for fluency and comprehension; use data to identify reading issues in order to provide interventions that are differentiated for intensity and focus; use strategies for building intellectual capacity in students; carefully monitor student performance, and provide timely affirmations and feedback.

Requirements for taking this course: Participants must have taken the Introductory, Comprehensive or Comprehensive OG+ Training in order to purchase this course. Participants will have access to this course for 45 days.
