IMSE has worked with teachers, schools, and districts in several states across the country affected by mandates that require teachers to be trained in specialized reading methodologies. The mandates are often targeted at general reading, special education and dyslexia focused initiatives.

South Carolina
IMSE's Orton-Gillingham courses and practicums have been approved by the South Carolina Departmentof Education to satisfy the Instructional Practices coursework requirement of the Read to Succeed legislation in the following capacities:
- Completion of both the Comprehensive and Intermediate Courses (60 hours of PD)
- Completion of the Comprehensive Course and practicum (80 hours of PD)
- Completion of the Intermediate Course and practicum (80 hours of PD)
