Intervention and Support for Striving Readers Course

The IMSE Intervention and Support for Striving Readers Course is an asynchronous course designed for educators who have completed IMSE’s Orton-Gillingham Plus Course. This course builds on foundational OG+ practices by providing knowledge and practical strategies for intensifying instruction for students who experience difficulty with reading and spelling.

As an add-on option to the 30-hour OG+ Course, it supports participants in identifying areas of need and applying scaffolds and instructional strategies appropriate for Tier 2 and Tier 3 settings. The course includes recorded presentations by an IMSE OG Master Instructor, suggested readings, and classroom videos demonstrating instructional activities introduced throughout the course. Participants actively engage in learning through readings, course activities, printable resources, and knowledge checks embedded throughout the course.

Participants will need access to a color printer to print the Practice Packet, which is used throughout the course.
