IMSE’s OG+ builds on the time-tested Orton-Gillingham approach by combining Structured Literacy principles with modern research, digital tools, and comprehensive classroom supports to bring the science of reading to every learner.

In 2018–19, Poway’s Special Education Department adopted IMSE’s Orton-Gillingham Plus (OG+) curriculum, ushering in a new era of student success.

Reading intervention plays a critical role in promoting literacy by targeting gaps in struggling students’ reading skills, tailoring instruction to meet their needs, and monitoring their progress.

By adopting IMSE’s Structured Literacy approach, East Windsor’s special education students saw measurable gains in reading fluency, demonstrating the impact of targeted, evidence-based instruction.
